Non-exhaust emissions, generated by the wear of brake systems, tires, roads, clutches, and road resuspension, are responsible for a large part airborne pollutants in urban areas. Brake accounts 55% non-exhaust emissions significantly contributes to health diseases related air pollution. A major studies reported scientific literature focused on experimental methods sample characterize particles reliable, representative, repeatable way. In this framework, simulation is an important tool, which makes it possible give interpretations results, formulate new testing approaches, predict emission produced brakes. The present comprehensive review aims introduce state art research different aspects debris resulting from systems can be used as inputs future models. review, previous focusing investigated three main categories: subsystem level, system environmental level.
